How do I make a booking?
To make a booking, please email us at email@example.com. Upon receipt of your wedding details we will contact you to confirm our availability. We encourage you to take all the time you need to fully consider your options and reach a well-informed decision on your preferred choice of wedding film maker, but please be aware that we often have several enquiries for a single date and it is very difficult to implement a fair policy for holding dates. Therefore we will then hold the date open for seven days during which time you will be required to complete a formal contract and pay a booking fee of £350.00. Once we receive payment of the booking fee, the date is reserved and we will send you confirmation of your booking, the outstanding balance is due no later than 30 days before the date of your wedding. You can pay in installments if you'd like.
What areas of the country do you cover?
We are based in the North West of England, although we film all over the UK. Weddings over a 200 mile return journey from Warrington are subject to a surcharge of 45 pence per extra mile and additional charges if an overnight stay is required. We are happy to film abroad, subject to additional charges, please contact us for a quotation. Any additional travel costs will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Can we meet beforehand to discuss the details?
Approximately 8 weeks before your wedding we will contact you to arrange to meet with you to discuss your exact requirements and the details of your wedding. We will discuss the style, feel and your vision for your wedding film and the best way to capture the spontaneity and spirit of the day. If it is more convenient for you we can liaise by email, telephone, FaceTime or Skype, which ever you prefer.
What equipment will you use?
These days with the advances in technology even a child could operate a professional video camera, but that obviously doesn’t mean you’ll get a professional film, more importantly it’s actually all about how our talented and experienced camera operators capture the footage. We use 2 professional broadcast HD cameras as standard on all our wedding films. Sound is recorded with professional Audio Limited tie-clip radio microphones and Sennheiser location rifle microphones.
What will the duration of our wedding film be?
Like any good broadcast programme the wedding film has to capture all the important moments whilst being interesting and entertaining. Every wedding is different and the duration is determined by many different factors such as the length and type of ceremony and entertainment during the day and at the reception. The main ‘feature’ is generally between 30 and 45 minutes. Unlike many other companies at Marry Me Films we also include the full length ceremony, speeches, first dance and if ordered the video messages in the bonus section of the DVD. The total footage is on average 2 and a half hours in length. As an extra bonus feature we also produce a short musical highlights ‘trailer’ of your wedding film, which we host on the private client section of our website, so you can email the link to all your family and friends.
Will the filming be discreet and unobtrusive?
As we use professional broadcast cameras and lenses this enables us to capture all the emotions of the day from a distance, so we are particularly discreet and unobtrusive during the filming of the ceremony. It's actually in our best interests to be as unobtrusive as possible, as the best footage we can get is when you don't realise you are being filmed.
Can we choose the music?
The choice of music is essential to setting the right tone and feel of your wedding film. So that is why we ask you to supply around 15-20 tracks before the wedding so that we know the style in which the wedding needs to be filmed. The necessary copyright licences will be obtained and these costs are included in the price of your wedding film.
What will the sound quality be like?
To ensure excellent sound quality and so that no moments are lost, we use a combination of professional broadcast tie-clip radio microphones and professional broadcast location rifle microphones.
How long after the wedding will the film be ready?
We can only start to edit your film once we have received your music choices and any digital photographs you may like to include in the DVD. So, once we have all these please allow approximately 12 weeks, sometimes sooner, for us to complete the full studio edit, studio sound mix, DVD production process and DVD master to be compiled. We will keep you updated on the progress of your film and notify you as soon as it is ready. We are so confident that we will realise your vision and as our aim is to make a film that you love and you will want to watch over and over again, that unlike most other companies if you require any small changes we will carry these out free of charge.
How long after the wedding can we order further copies of the DVD?
We keep the masters indefinitely; please contact us at any time for a quotation.
What insurance cover do you have?
As a freelance member of BECTU (Broadcasting Entertainment Cinematograph and Theatre Union) and a professional organisation, we have full insurance cover including Professional Indemnity Insurance. This includes £10million public liability insurance and full accidental damage and equipment loss insurance. Copies of certificates available upon request.
What are the issues with regards copyright?
Any hymns sung or music played during your ceremony is subject to copyright law as is any music performed or played at the reception. These all require clearances, as does any commercial music added to your film during the edit. All copyrights involved in your wedding film will have been observed and the fees paid, each DVD has a holographic sticker to confirm this. Due to strict online music copyright laws, the music for your wedding film highlights trailer cannot be edited to copyright music. There are two companies that we use that offer great licenced music which you can choose from for your wedding film highlights trailer track. Finally the copyright for the finished wedding film remains with us, not you the client. Our own copyright is protected by law; for you to make additional copies would be an infringement of our copyright and the copyright licences for which we have paid for on your behalf. Additional copies at a reasonable price can be purchased at any time, please contact us for a quotation.
Is VAT included?
VAT is included in any prices quoted.
Do film any other events?
We can provide coverage for christenings, anniversaries, birthdays and any other special occasions, please contact us for a quotation. We also offer a bespoke commercial film making service, please take a look at our commercial films page to see some samples.
